I am up and at it bright and early every day. As we are more into spring and head into summer, the early morning songs of these birds are loud and clear.
We even have an owl whom we can occasionally hear making hoot sounds. We live where many birds of all kinds surround us. We sleep with our bedroom window ajar for fresh air and coolness this allows all the outside noises to travel in. His joy and enthusiasm are energetic for such early hours to a fellow morning person, however, not to the others who may want to catch more winks. And he is on too, ready to go for the day. I, of course, was back in bed, feigning sleep.īennett, one of my grandsons, has always been up at dawn since being a tiny baby. I got up before my whole family and somehow unwrapped all the gifts, peeking and rewrapping them before they all rose on Christmas day. A memory I have, and I am not sure about my age, but I still believed in Santa Clause. I remember being up very early when I was a young child and loving dawn it is fitting that my middle name is Dawn. I am an early birdĪn early bird I have always been. This proverb can show us the importance of starting something early to maximize the potential outcome. If the bird can get ahead of the other birds who have yet to wake up, it can get what is desired, aka the worm. This saying focuses on the idea that the bird that wakes up first will likely catch the worm to feed first. A proverb is used to teach a lesson or inform someone about the best way to live their lives and is often taught metaphorically my favourite way to teach and learn. It got me thinking about saying, “The Early Bird gets the Worm.” This saying is an English proverb dating back to the 17 th century. This discovery was the inspiration for this blog.
